The village of Čigoč is situated at the County road Sisak - Jasenovac, 28 km away from Sisak. Before you enter Čigoč, there is a village called Gušće, and farther there are the villages of Kratečko (the municipal centre), Mužilovčica, Suvoj, Lonja etc. Čigoč lies next to a calm meander of the Sava called Tišina. It is not linked by subterranean water flows with the Sava, so it always keeps the same water level. Tišina is interesting for both anglers and tourists because of its water lilies and other aquatic plants. In recent years, swans have settled there.
At the entrance to Čigoč, right in front of the village hall and the local volunteer fire brigade premises, there is a path to Lonjsko Polje Nature Park. Along with it, there is the Čigoč canal. A kilometre away there is a protection dyke, behind which the plains of Lonjsko Polje extend - in spring and autumn flooded with water, and in summer full of cows, horses and pigs. Next to the dyke, there are so-called material trenches, always visited by anglers as those trenches are quite deep and full of various fish. The location is easily accessed by car, and anglers often camp there. The house No. 29, which houses the Tourist Board of Čigoč, was built in 1888 in Bobovac, a village on the right bank of the Sava. The owner was Nikola Laktašić, a world traveller. He had the house dismantled and shipped it over the Sava, and then reassembled it in Čigoč. The management of Lonjsko Polje Nature Park is situated at the wooden house No. 26, which is considered to be the oldest house in the village. There you can obtain information and brochures and buy souvenirs.
