The Sisak-Moslavina County (in Croatian the Sisak-Moslavina County) is situated in the south of the central part of Croatia, and is third in size among Croatia's counties. It consists of Posavina, Banovina, Moslavina, and a part of Slavonia and Kordun. It borders four Croatian counties: the County of Zagreb, the County of Karlovac, the Bjelovar-Bilogora County and the Brod-Posavina County, and the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the south.

The county-based territorial structure was known as early as the 10th century and maintained until 1918. From the 14th century to the beginning of the 20th century, this region was a part of the County of Zagreb. The present territorial arrangement was laid down by the Constitution of the Republic of Croatia in 1990. The Sisak-Moslavina County was established on 16 April 1993. In 1997 it was slightly changed, when Ivanić Grad became part of the County of Zagreb.

Economic opportunities of the Sisak-Moslavina County are notable and diverse: water resources, oil, natural gas, arable land, forests, vineyards and orchards, thermal springs, navigable rivers, nature reserves and protected natural resources, as well as rich flora and fauna. With its roads, railroads and river transport the area is very important for Croatia's transport system. Dunav Lloyd plays a significant role in the river transport.

The County's water resources include a large number of natural running waters and retentions, as well as large quantities of underground waters. Agriculture is based on the arable land which covers 45 percent of the county's area.
